Dear Aunt Thelma

  • May. 27th, 2009 at 11:46 AM

It seems like just yesterday i was standing in the Family room hugging You and telling You i Loved You. You said to me i love you too, it made me smile, and then i asked You if You wanted to go to work with me to which You responded maybe another day. I kissed You on the cheek as i did everyday before i left for work, i said to You i'll see You later. You responded "no you won't" i didn't believe You. The time i was allowed to have spent with You while You were here is very much cherished. I have a hard time coming home everyday knowing i won't be able to hold You, sit with You, watch our favorite game shows or the Yankees/Giants play. You gave me a new outlook on life and the many things a Woman could accomplish, and still remain a respectable. You know that no matter what happened we were all here for You, ready to battle.

I am very honored at the Fact that You accepted us as Your Family and allowed us the opportunity to spend a life time with You. To grow and become a stronger unit. Thank You for the jokes, compliments of eating my cooking, and letting me love You. You are an amazing woman, and i know that You witnessed a lot in life, Thank You for the fights You fought so that we may have many of the rights and privileges we have today.

I miss Your smile and fiestyness,You are truly missed. I remember when i took you to vote, You had to get dressed up with matching hat and coat. The house isn't the same without You, but knowing that You were able to see it as You knew it has been a great accomplishment. Having Your friends and Family back home to celebrate You and Your life, is a great memory i shall cherish always. The smile on Your face, and the memory You had for everyone and everything we ever talked about was truly amazing. i know You are with Loved Ones You have sorely missed, and i am happy for You. Just know that we miss You very much and know that You are watching over us. Thank You for the Joys You brought to us in all You did. I miss You very much and cry when i think of what i now miss, without you being here. I love You and miss You, Talk to You soon.

Respectfully,
" robi "

What's Your Beer Personality?

  • Apr. 7th, 2009 at 1:15 PM

You Are Corona
You don't drink for the love of beer. You drink to get drunk.
You prefer a very light, very smooth beer. A beer that's hardly a beer at all.
And while you make not like the taste of beer, you like the feeling of being drunk.
You drink early and often. Sometimes with friends. Sometimes alone. All the party needs is you!

Today's Quote

We can never live in the past as if it were our true home…. And it is a good thing that God draws this veil over the past even without our asking. In so doing, He allows us to live today for tomorrow with just the few memories we need of what was.

Okay i have this phone that i am not sure how to use yet, but its getting better. Yesterday i was having an off day and i could'nt figure it out, so i went out to do laundry and play Ms Pacman. When i got home i noticed i had missed several phone calls and had messages. It only took me about an hour to figure out how to retrieve those messages. lol..what a dork~!! Anyway one of the messages i received was from the Company Nurse stating she received an email from my boss stating that if they could give me light duty i could return to work earlier than expected. That was a total trip, but i got up early today and called the doctor to relay the message. He stated to me what the note he would fax over to them would say and said if they agree to the conditions that he would release me back to work on Monday the 16th. OMG i sure hope they agree because i need to get back into the swing of things even if it is in short spurts.

Jen guess what arrived at the house today? The Wii Fit, so now i can do things and we can play online. That should be fun. About clearing out your desk, i would start doing it tomorrow that way when you leave on Friday you won't forget anything that is important to you. A new laptop and phone are always a good thing especially if you don't have to pay for them. i had to buy new rubber tips today for my cane because ive been using it so much. Almost bought a new one today, but didn't need it, wanted it, and right now i don't need to spend money unwarranted.

Right now i am cooking some ribs for dinner, Aunt T had the podiatrist here today and She was mad that he was cutting her nails. She thought he was cutting her finger nails and showed them to me all upset. i reassured her that they weren't cut, and that her feet should feel much better now. Yesterday she stood up and put her arms around me for security, it was great to see this. She stood up at the kitchen sink as well and waved at Mom outside the window. We are making progress here with Her and it is absolutely amazing. It's nice to know she trusts me to do things she won't for others, one of the big ones being eating what i cook for Her. she has been asking for more food and water these days and that means she is getting better. She is fiesty and thats what i love about her, she never gives up. Just like the rest of my Family we take a lickin and keep on kickin. heehee.

i can't state this enough, but i am the luckiest boy in the whole world, my Family is great and i wouldn't change it for anything. Ms Jessica thanks for sharing pictures of Libbie and im glad that You are happy. Hope to see you soon. Take care and know that everyone is much Loved.

To my Brother congratulations on yet another awesome HOA event, you totally rock. i love and miss you very much.

Q? When are you coming back?

Respectfully submitted,

Life in General~!

  • Feb. 7th, 2009 at 3:23 PM

Last night i made a special trip into New York with Aunt Geri, Kathy, and Barbara. We went to see St. Jean. He is a very interesting gentleman and very knowledgable. i learned a lot from him and hope that everything works out just like he said it would. i learned that i need to do something special for myself, that i have been neglecting my own happiness for others.

i look at things like this, its not about me but what i can do make others happy and comfortable. Today i have been cleaning up around the house and rearranging things. Must be fidgiting, soon i will lay down and take a nap because i am feeling a bit run down. This morning i got a text message from my boss telling me to call him later in the day. Well i called him back around 0345 in the morning and he told me that him and my whole crew really miss me at work. i explained to him if he could guarntee me a job sitting at a desk rather than running the floor for 8 hours i would be able to come back on Monday. He said he would love that but doesn't look like its possible, and that he would see me in about a month. Provided the doctor releases me then. He said that they have a man there from the Airport while i am out... who doesn't like to get dirty or do anything to help out. It was nice to talk to him. i also called up one of my employees who recently had a stroke and found out that his family has run into more back luck. They had a fire in their home and thank goodness he was home at the time and able to function or he may have lost his children in the fire. Now he is trying to rebuild what has been lost and explained it is hard since he has no money coming in at the time. i think i will put the word out and try to help him out in some way or another. The kids wear size 18-20 pants and 16-18, so any donations would be greatly appreciated.

i realize that times are now hard with the economy going like it is, but any little bit would be appreciated. This man has always worked hard and even donated to United Way, but in his time of need they don't seem to be helping. Which i very sad as our Shift alone raises over a Million dollars in donations a year. i have some work to do to make things better with my life and spirit at the moment, but that will take a lot of reassurance. Thanks Mom for helping this boy with this, i Love You very Much.

My brother is having HOA this weekend and i was supposed to be there, but with the knee and everything else going on i couldn't make it. My brother probably feels as though i have abandonded him, i haven't. i Love You very Much my Brother and always know i am here for you if not physically at least in spirit.

Jen congratulations on you new job, i wish you much joy and happiness in this new endeavor. You have the power and knowledge to succeed at what ever it is you do. Knock them out Kiddo.

MC your boy loves you very Much, Thank You for everything You do.

Being Thankful~!!

  • Feb. 4th, 2009 at 10:23 AM

This morning i woke up to the sun shining brightly on my face. My knee is hurting today but hopefully it will stop soon, as i have to go to physical therapy at 1500. i am thankful for having a peaceful night, and for my Family all of whom take great care of me. Aunt Thelma was asking for food last night and that makes me very happy. So naturally i obliged her wishes and she slept through the night. The nurse came in this morning and she did what she does best.

i am thankful that i have been blessed with yet another day of life. i am also thankful that i got to speak with my brother last night even if it was for a brief moment online, Love You Dude.

Just a little note

  • Feb. 4th, 2009 at 4:11 AM

i had a spectacular weekend with MC and Jen, it was great down time. i actually got some sleep and felt like a new boy. We did lots of cleaning and enjoyed each others company. i even got to play wii with them, which was very fun. Now im looking to get my own wii, lol, that thing can be very addicting.

i am now home and guess what sleep is becoming a foreign concept already. It snowed today so this boy can't do too much because of the possibility of falling and messing up to so called fixed knee. i was just sitting here thinking how lucky of a boy i am. i have the most Awesome Family, and a great bunch of friends. Something happened tonight that really blew my mind though. My phone rang and it was a 505 area code, so my first thought was oh no what happened now. But when i answered the phone it was my Dad. He said he was calling to check in with me, to let me know that he was alright and up and running with the house repairs. He also said he called to see how i was doing. My dad never calls, so it was a nice surprise.

Thank You to my Family for being So Awesome i Love You all Very Much~!!!

Ms Jess i send you warm wishes and thoughts. Give me a call sometime i have a question for you.

Bummed~!!!

  • Jan. 6th, 2009 at 9:43 PM

Okay this year has started off rather screwy, i had knee surgery December 8th and well it doesn't seem to be helping. Go to the doctor on thursday to read another MRI, i should be glowing by now all the MRI, CATscans and Xrays i've had in the past year. Anyway im not whining about it, just saying is all. My brother is coming down for MAL and well i can't attend this year with him but i completely understand the reasoning behind it. Saftey/Health first.

This boy has been sitting here reflecting on the past year and am totally amazed at all that got accomplished. We finished the renovations on the house, and it looks totally amazing, can't believe its the same place. It took a lot of blood and sweat but we stuck together and accomplished what others that was an unreachable goal. As a result of the work, we were able to have Aunt T's 94th birthday party, get the house blessed and rededicated, have over 100 people in the house for the event, and seat 42 for Christmas dinner. The Rec room is Totally Awesome, it looked like a VFW Hall at Christmas.

My youngest graduated from high school and is a freshman at Virginia State University, the family has come to grow closer than ever before. It seems that our chosen Families tend to give more love and understanding than biologicals. In my personal experience anyway, i am the luckiest boy in the whole world in this aspect. i wouldn't trade my chosen Family for anything in the world. Many new events attended, growth that occured communication that opened up, unconditional support, and love. In November it was two years this since this boy had been accepted into the Family and now getting ready for Year Three. Its so exciting and can't wait to see what new challenges and obstacles come this way. Looking forward to another year. Thank You so very much for making me the boy i am. Love You all very much~!!!

One thing this boy learned this year, is that he is worthy of serving. It is okay to say i need help and look to others for it. this boy isn't superboy, set goals that are reachable and chip away at them until accomplished. Family always sticks together and by doing so we can accomplish anything. Communication is very important in keeping things in perspective, no one is a mind reader. Live life to the fullest but don't put your life or health in jeopardy doing so. Love You very Much, Thank You for the lessons.
